I've enabled for now automatic line numbering for bash (seems is the only language that exhibits this problem), which works around the problem.

@BuZz Thanks so much for your help in fixing this.

Also, thanks to everyone else who tried to troubleshoot the issue. I realize I'm not active on here much lately, but the way this problem was handled is an amazing reminder of how this a really excellent community.

When you post an image, if it's wider than 1520px, the forum automatically generates a preview image for the post that's smaller, providing a link to the original image.

What I think happened is a bug (?) in the forum job that looks for 'orphaned' uploads (uploaded files from removed or cancelled posts) and deletes them. The job erroneously removed the preview images and thus the missing image in the posts (clicking on the link would still show you the original image).

@BuZz restored the preview images, for now I've disabled the 'cleanup' job until the issue is solved.

@buzz said in [Forum] Some humble suggestions for the flagging dialog:

@clyde Thanks. We can't really change any forum core behaviour so if you think something should be improved you will need to report this upstream to the nodebb project. https://community.nodebb.org/

Thanks, I'll look into that. And thanks for the restoration.

Looks like a minor bug as it should have fallen back on our favicon I think. Anyway - working now.

@Tomaz Seriously, the amount of fat you trimmed from ES was absurd - I did not recall (but now I do :D ) the amount of time ES took to compile!

What I've always wondered is if the Retropie on Raspberrypie4 could run some of the Wii U Shop games, mainly stuff like the Rebirth series (Castlevania, Contra, Blaster Master) and the 8bit Megaman games.

I also realised I hadn't made an spf record for our domain and some email notifications to Gmail had failed on occasions (due to number of subscribers on Gmail). Should be sorted now.

(Triggered when sending similar emails to many Gmail accounts at once and Gmail thinking it was spam). If we still get issues, I can look into other authentication methods they recommend.

A new bang is registered. I don't start a new thread for this, as it is for an external site and not about Retropie itself (and to be honest, its not that important).

      !hack SEARCHTERM

This one will start a search in the https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/ website. It will sort the romhacks by date, so you see the newest entries first.

@mitu I almost would rule out any addons anyway, since it also happens to me in Chromium without any addons.

It certainly is strange that it happens to me frequently with two different browsers. I can't imagine such an effect having anything to do with my OS or router.

@tonberryhunter I think this thread shows exactly that you are not right about the current state. You are opening a thread where you talk in a derogatory tone about moderators, who work in their free time and give the software for free, doing what they can do for you if you have a problem. They maintain the site and forum. Yet, you don't change your abusive tone.

      And guess what?*
This thread did not got closed!

You are free to tell your opinion or ask questions in a fair and friendly manner, even if you aren't friendly, you don't get banned. But don't expect help in that case. Now, if you want talk about the state of the forum and moderators, I can tell you my experience. Some of them are actively discussing here in the forum and are helping with useful answers. Of course you can't expect every answer to be perfect, even if they would be paid professionals (which is not the case here). I have no complaints here. So my advice is: Be polite, the nice tone will change everything.

Edit: I can understand if you get frustrated because a problem isn't solved, I also experienced some frustrations here and there. That don't give us a free ticket to attack the moderators. RetroPie and emulation on Raspberry Pi isn't a flawless easy experience, there are known and unknown problems and you should know this fact. If you commit yourself to this project, then expect that, we are sitting on the same boat.

I won't make the username change, but I have enabled the ability for users to change their usernames. If it's abused though it will be disabled. Note changing the username may make older discussions a little odd as quoted username in replies won't be changed.

@bytethis said in Issues using RetroPie forums with Mozilla Firefox:

@madmodder123 Better ad block software is ublock origin than Adblock Plus. Adblock got bought out and compromised. Conversation here : https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/7s7r4s/unable_to_get_playstation_bios_working/

      ublock origin : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UBlock_Origin

Ublock blocks more unwanted ads..popups..etc and 100% effective.

Apologize for going off topic in your thread.

Ah that seems to have been it, ublock origin is working fine for me now. Thanks for letting me know about adblock plus, I remember when they were on top, but I guess times change :/
Interesting though that it seems even though adblock plus was disabled for this website, it seemed to be causing the issue.
