Games not starting, joy2key error - I think
-
Hi all, I'm experiencing a few problems with my RetroPie x86(64bit) setup.
Running on a i3 NUC with Unbunu 64bit 20.04.
I have run it succesfully yesterday playing a bit of classic N64 but today after I have done some scrapping I am running into an issue. I select a game and nothing happens, it takes me out of ES and then back into to, briefly showing the desktop.
The log file doesn't really me tell me much;

In between the two game lauches I got a Unbuntu Crash error report saying the joy2key.py has crashed.
I am guessing something is not working correctly. Any ideas where I can start looking to solve this problem? I'm starting to get annoyed and fancy just giving up, but really want to play abit more Mario Kart 64 and a few other games.TIA

@gigo said in Games not starting, joy2key error - I think:
The log file doesn't really me tell me much;
Post the
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
file's contents.
Which emulator are you using for N64 ? Any settings you've changed from the defaults ? -
@mitu
Thanks for the reply, I can't seem to find that directory? Do you know the directory will be in ubuntu? Or how to get to it, I can't find the /devI have not managed to run a ROM, restarted the box and plugged my keyboard and mouse and all is good. I'm just confused as I only seem to get the issue when I unplug the keyboard?

I've found it now :)
Parameters: Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/mupen64plus/bin/mupen64plus.sh mupen64plus-video-glide64mk2 "/home/barbary/RetroPie/roms/n64/Mario Party (U) [!].z64"
This all it says.

Try using the Runcommand launch menu and switch the default N64 emulator to
lr-mupen64plus-next
, see if that works. -
@mitu Thanks again for your help.
It appears to be every Emulator, nothing is working now. Will start again and hope it works.
