I have the latest version of RetroPie and running it on the Rasberry Pi400. Bluetooth is not working "out-of-the-box" and keeps returning back AuthenticationFailed messages.

I found a very helpful guide to install pulseaudio and do some configuration here https://www.funincomplete.com/how-to-use-bluetooth-speaker-raspberry-pi/

However, I am still getting the same issues. It actually manages to pair in the terminal but has problem connecting and keeps repeating the line error org.bluez.Error.

When I go back into the GUI and try to connect from the "Bluetooth" menu I get the full error as: Failed to pair: org.bluez.Error.AuthenticationFailed

An error occured connecting to the bluetooth device (creating device failed: org.bluez.Error.AuthenticationFailed: Authentication Failed

I have tried reconnecting several times with a range of different bluetooth audio devices and I still seem to get the same result. Not able to play games with sound and it is killing me softly and slowly.

Is there some patch/solution that is out there that I have not yet heard off? Some instability of bluetooth on latest retropie? I am not having this issue with my install of Linux distro TwisterOS that I installed on another micro SD card. Seems like it is a problem related to RetroPie setup.

I found my solution and I will post it out here so it might help someone else with bluetooth audio problems.

I think my whole issue is because I did not add user "pi" to bluetooth. I followed the article here https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/20338/tutorial-bluetooth-audio-on-retropie-v4-4-and-raspberry-pi-3-model-b

Finally bluetooth connected in the GUI and it worked out for me in the end.
