@braxdabozz which emulator are you using? Do you have the correct bios in the correct location?

please fill in ALL of https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first - including emulator name, full game name and path (give an example even if it's happening with all games), verbose log, etc. it's all important.

@dankcushions I have installed flycast and reicast, the games I am trying to play are resident evil 2, and resident evil code veronica. on both emulators, the game will launch, it shows the popup that says to press a button to configure the emulators or other things, then it just crashes and takes me back to the ES ui

@braxdabozz resident evil 2 is a windows ce game - reicast doesn't support them, and lr-flycast does but not in 32-bit mode (and unplayably slowly in aarch64). i don't know about code veronica, but if you provide a verbose log we can assist.

@dankcushions I don't know what a verbose log is, could you explain it?

I had a similar issue for ages. What fixed it for me was finding the correct bios. Whilst I had what I thought was the correct bios, when I checked the md5sum I found it was incorrect. I seem to recall I also had no luck with the hacked bios (see Retropie Docs - Dreamcast). Long story-short, getting a correct, working bios fixed the issue for me.

However: i had no fun with DC on a Pi3(B).
A Pi4 should be highly recommended for this system.
Code Veronica is no CE Game and will work great. On a Pi4 :)
