      Good day,

Per rules, posting here prior to filing an issue with EmulationStation-dev (installed with Experimental Package 280 emulationstation-dev via source).

First, I understand this is the unstable code. I am not looking for help.

      My Info:
      Raspberry Pi 4B+
      Latest Kernel
      Running 32-bit kernel & userland
Tested with both FKMS & KMS drivers
      Tested with overclock and without
      Latest ES-dev (master) Commit: 2428891 (March 27, 2021)

      Issue
For themes that start with a still image, and if a video is present, will fade out then play the video snap: When navigating ES to a game whose gamelist.xml references an image but does not have a video, ES will repeatedly attempt to load the video.

      Side Effect
For these themes, the still image will fade out (preparing for a video) then pop back on when the video fails to load. This repeats indefinitely creating a strobing effect.

For each failure, console will be spammed with:

      libdvdnav: Using dvdnav version 6.0.0
      libdvdread: Encrypted DVD support unavailable.

      ** **
      ***********************************************
      libdvdread: Couldn't find device name.
      libdvdread:DVDOpenFilePath:findDVDFile /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.IFO failed
      libdvdread:DVDOpenFilePath:findDVDFile /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.BUF failed
      libdvdread: Can't open file VIDEO_TS.IFO.
libdvdnav: um: failed to read VIDEO_TS.IFO

      Expected
When a video unavailable, ES should not attempt to start the video play sequence.

      Cheers,
      -Ros

Can confirm - looks to be related to a recent change (8a6f782c7).
