      @pjft

I'm perfectly certain that it was most definitely an entirely different pjft.

@mediamogul I’ve chimed in on this one before. Tetris is also my game. Its the game I have most physical copies of. The game I play the most out of all my collection. The Gameboy version is really my go to but, I do enjoy the NES version a lot. A year or two ago I wanted to head up to the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. It never happened and I really wanted to go see Jonas in person and compete in CTWC. He has since past and COVID cancelled it last year so here we are today. I still play Tetris like my life depends on it.
        RIP Jonas Neubauer.

        Currently Playing: Tetris (Gameboy)

It's such a damn shame about Jonas. I followed both him and his wife Heather online for years and completely aside from their massive amount of skill (Heather is also a Dr. Mario world champ) it was always amazing to see the two of them just being themselves together.

If you were to ask Alexey Pajitnov currently, I believe he's ultimately settled on the original Game Boy version as being his favorite for some time now. It's no surprise really, as it's not only one of the strongest, most iconic and enjoyable versions available, but it was also developed with direct input from himself by his close friend Henk Rogers who owned Bullet Proof Software. Despite arguably missing the mark earlier with the Famicom version, BPS really got it right on the Game Boy.

An update for this week :

            1. Daxter (Sony PSP), really inventive platformer, I can't help but marvel at the PSP's capabilities.
            2. Gun Nac (NES), utterly bonkers vertical shooter, one of the fastest games I've seen on the NES.
            3. Raiden Densetsu (FM Towns), very simple but very tightly crafted and addictive.
            4. Streets of Rage II (MegaDrive), for me still the best beat 'em up ever made.
            5. Galaga '88 (PC Engine), gorgeous and blazingly fast Galaga action.

@singhudit61 If you're asking for ROMs, then see the forum rules.
Otherwise, see this topic on how to acquire old retro-games or the usual places where you can buy games.

                      Recently it's been:

                      1. Super Mario World (first proper play through since the SNES launch!)
                      2. Street Fighter Alpha (DC, only really played SF 2 Turbo on the SNES, so branching out)
                      3. Colin McCrae 2.0 (best looking PSX rally game? You bet!)
                      4. Wipeout 2097 (PSX, my favourite iteration of Wipeout)
                      5. Rage Racer (PSX, last 'Racer I completed!)

Does anyone remember seeing those 100/150 games in 1 gameboy color game cartridges? I remember in the early 2000's seeing them and they had classics like Elevator Action, Rolan's Curse, Lock N Chase, Pokemon Green and Super Mario Land 2.

After years of playing Outrun daily I'm taking a break from it lol.
Currently i'm mostly playing games on a small CRT TV, so there are quite some games i want to plat on that that i havent played in a long time, just because they look amazing on CRT and not so much on a modern screen.

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (PSX) (I wish the same company made the later games too, it's just so good.)
Rent a Hero (SEGA Megadrive) There is a Fan translated patch out there, this game seems incredibly fun (also someone is currently translating the Dreamcast sequel.)
A.B. Cop (SEGA Arcade) It is allot like Taito's Chase series, but set in the future, since i played the Taito games to death, this one is nice variation to keep the genre fresh.
Rival Schools / Street Fighter Ex 2 Plus / Fatal Fury - Wild Ambition (PSX) counting this as one cause lets be honest... They all look absolutely crap on LCD or Plasma, but pretty decent on CRT. so might has well have some ass kicking fun in these now i can actually enjoy them.

                            1. Super Mario Bros. NES: This is a classic that I always warm up with. When I can plow through the whole game (especially pesky 8-3), then I know I'm ready to attempt harder games.

                            2. Castlevania NES: I haven't beaten this one in years. It's time to kick Dracula's undead buttocks again before I'm too old to do it.

                            3. Aria of Sorrow GBA: I love this game. It's about equal with Symphony of The Night in my opinion.

                            4. Street Fighter Collection 1 and 2 PSX: I always come back to Street Fighter. I used to play in arcade tournaments years ago when SF2 was the current show stopper. I never won a single tournament, but I enjoyed seeing how far I could get.

                            5. Just Breed Fan Translation NES: This is a very early strategy RPG that I've just started. It's surprisingly fun in it's simplicity. It's kind of like the grandfather of Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem.

                              1. Fist of The North Star (Atomiswave )... love the animations in this fighting game & the attention to detail in the art work.
                              2. Blazblue Calamity Trigger (PSP) .... over the top fighting game with gothic Manga style artwork.
                              3. Dynamite Cop (Dreamcast) ..... great beat em up, the variety of weapons & non stop action has me hooked.
                              4. Contra 3 (SNES) .... seen this on Gamesmaster as a kid, I cant get past the first level but I am still hooked !
                              5. Ghouls & Ghosts (Mega Drive) .... used to rent this every few weeks, only got to the 2nd level once haha !

                                  2. Popeye (Arcade) is so hard! F it!

That's actually in no particular order, those just tend to be the five (technically seven) I play most.

This has changed a bit recently

1 - Star Ocean Blue Planet (GBC, dejap version. It's more like a cross between Tales of Symphonia and a Zelda game than any other Star Ocean game.)
                                          2 - Time Pilot '84 (MAME 2003)
3 - StarBlade (MAME 2003. Requires a hefty overclock to run at full speed on Pi 4)
4 - Cosmo Gangs the Video (MAME 2003. Galaga clone with powerup drops and score multiplier drops)
5 - World of Tanks Blitz (Windows on Raspberry, a free to play Steam version that runs well on low-spec hardware)

System Config: Retropie 4.4 with full desktop, RPi 3B, 256gb SD, 5v 2.1A 5,200 mAH USB battery. EasyMSX controller mounted with Pimoroni Hyperpixel 4 (non touch). Also running 4.6 on a 4gb Pi 4 serving as my primary desktop computer now.

                                            Ultima III (Atari 800)
                                            Computer Ambush (C64)

Only 5?? That was hard... lol. A mixed bag of old games that I still enjoy playing.
