Disclaimer: I can count the number of forum posts I've made on one hand, so I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong category / I am missing some other piece of etiquette.

Hi all. I've searched around on the web for information about this and haven't come up with anything. Does anyone know of a port that exists for RetroPie that allows you to play Go? I'd love to be able to play it on my handheld. (As per the rules, this isn't a request for a rom or a rom location).

      Thank you.

@crimsonred You could run https://packages.debian.org/stable/games/gnugo from a console - or install the Desktop and run a number of graphical version of the game.

Might not be that easy to use on a handheld though. There may be other versions which would be more suited for your setup - eg there may be an SDL version of the game with joystick support but something like that would need porting/building etc.

also possible: try to find some console-variants, mostly japanese of course.

          Examples:

          • Super Igo - Gou Ou (SNES)
          • Honkakuha Igo Gosei (SNES)

BTW: did you know? Nolan Bushnell named his infamous company ATARI after the final move in the GO-Games ("Hatari", equal to "Checkmate" in Chess).

@sirhenrythe5th I had not considered this either. And yes, a very cool fact! If I remember correctly that's actually what got me in to the game in the first place after watching an Atari doc. Thank you for the ideas.
