EmulationStation video preview size sometimes incorrect

It looks to me like the EmulationStation video previews are not taking into account the aspect ratio. For example, here's a partial mediainfo output for frogger.mp4 :

Width                                    : 224 pixels
Height                                   : 768 pixels
Display aspect ratio                     : 0.750

Now, if I try to display this in EmulationStation, as a video preview, I get a resulting video that is very narrow. But, if I play this video, from the command line, using vlc directly, it plays CORRECTLY. In other words, it looks fine.

From looking briefly at the source code for VideoVlcComponent.cpp, it looks to me like the 'Display aspect ratio' metadata is never used.

This would explain why certain preview videos, such as the aforementioned frogger.mp4 look horizontally squished, from within EmulationStation.
