- mame
====================
Hello,
i would like to use P1/P2 buttons of my 8bitdo arcade stick for "insert coin" and "Player 1 start" in mame configuration, but these two buttons are not recognized in retropie.
I have already tried to configure it using the 8bitdo arcade stick software. Buttons works perfectly on windows machine.
Any ideas?
Thanks -
@gerry_keys said in 8Bitdo Arcade Stick P1/P2 buttons not recognized:
but these two buttons are not recognized in retropie.
Does this mean that you can't map them in EmulationStation, when configuring 8bitdo arcade stick or you can't map them in the emulator ? Which 'MAME' emulator are you using, specifically - we have several MAME versions included in RetroPie ?

i cannot map both in emulation station and in mame emulator (lr-mame2003)
-
Update the RetroPie-Setup script and then re-install the
xpad
driver. After that reboot and try again to map the buttons in EmulationStation - if it works, then they'll be 'transferred' tolr-mame2003

i solved, the problem was releated to the arcade stick controller. After a reset using the 8bitdo software, all works fine.
Thanks

@gerry_keys I had one of those, just recently. Did you upgrade the Firmware? The link
https://support.8bitdo.com/firmware-updater.htmlMy Retropie build was acting funny with default 4.7.1, in which a controller detected as a xbox 360 controller will not allow you to bind RT (Right Trigger) and LT (Left Trigger). Fixed when I updated RetroPie. As for latency, i had a issue with that one but I have not been able to retest after updating it. You could try a fighting game that shows your move inputs to see if it is affected. Had trouble trying to activate the 3 button attack mode for King of Fighter games due to latency.
" What are the P1 and P2 buttons used for?
P1 and P2 are 2 dedicated macro buttons. You can create macros by using 8BitDo Ultimate Software.
Go to https://support.8bitdo.com/ultimate-software.html to get it."The email they sent me is that you can change the gamepad to X-input (X+Start), D-input (B+Start), Switch mode and MacOS mode). The odd thing is that this info is not in the instructions that came with that Arcade Stick.

i have not updated yet firmware, but thanks for the news!
I'm doing several tests but I have no latency problems
