I am new to retropie I had installed the vice from the optional package and copied some .tap and .t64 files to /home/RetroPie/roms/c64
And restart the es but still can not see it in the screen

Can anyone tell me if I did something wrong

@thunder look and see in /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg has c64 in there and that it points to the folder where your roms are and the extensions it lists include those file extensions. Otherwise add them. Then they should show up. But it may or may not play those file types. I am not sure if it can play the tape files. You should try some disk files.

I had checked the suggested file and it was there and configured properly there is no action need to modify it as the C64 available
Also the file extension is listed there and my files one of them

Is there another file I should check?

@thunder look and see if you have an es_systems.cfg in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/ . If so copy the info from the other es_systems.cfg file for the c64

Is it really that directory? I think it should read /home/<username>/RetroPie/roms/c64

No I am using it on RPi3 so the correct path is /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/c64

But my issue that whatever roms I put there it doesn't shows up on the screen
For Psx and nes it's working fine only c64
