Pin being used by something else?

Hi.

I am having a bit of trouble with my build. I have recently put my Pi4 into a set of sticks I purchased that use GPIOnext to talk to the pi. When I am setting up the controls in Emulation Station though the up direction doesn't work.

I have tried setting up on a fresh install of RetroPie and on that the up does work. While researching the problem I read a suggestion that this could happen when another module is using the pin.

Does anyone know how I can check which pins are being used by what? I know I could always go back to a fresh install and start again, but that would set me back a long way so I would rather avoid that if possible.

@cazna52 there is really no way to just check what pins are being used as far as I know. They are controlled by scripts/drivers and mini programs that check the status of the pins. Have you installed any other script/driver for anything else? Like a case with power or screen over gpio, or whatnot? They may be over riding some pins.

@lostless thankyou. This has been driving me crazy but you hit the nail on the head. I had a driver installed for a case that had the option for cooling that must have used those pins. I uninstalled the driver and it is working now.
