Hello I am currently having an issue where I download my ROM's and emulation station has no problem finding them but when I try to open them it wants me to configure them. Is there additional software that I need to have in order for this to work? I am trying to do DOOM64 and the ROM file type is .v64 if that is any help.

Please add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

How are you opening the ROMs - are you launching them from EmulationStation ? What does the 'configuration' dialog say ?

Pi Model or other hardware: Pi 4 4gig ram
Power Supply used: Vilros provided power supply
          RetroPie Version Used: 4.7.18
Built From: raspberry pi imager / retropie 4.7.1 (rpi4/400)
          USB Devices connected: Keyboard
          Controller used: vilros usb controller
          Error messages received: None
Verbose log (if relevant): I tried to launch with the logging but the screen went black and came back to my options of ROM's.
          File path : D:\retropie\roms\n64
          Emulator: lr-mupen64plus-next

I am launching from the emulationstation. When I try to launch the ROM it will pop up with a prompt that wants me to press a button to configure and if I dont it will reload back to the n64 ROM's. When I try to configure it asks me to select a default emulator for the n64 and video modes.

@littlerichy That is exactly what's supposed to happen. The actual problem is that it's crashing back to Emulationstation. You probably have bad roms.
