      Hi All

I have just installed Retropie onto my raspberry pi 2 model b...all installed fine and loads up. I then plugged my usb stick into the raspberry pi and it created all the roms folders and i put my roms in the correct folders and checked the extentions which were also correct.

After following all the instructions i can find online it still doesn't show me any emulators. I get the retropie logo and under it "13 games available" but no emulators to the right or left hand side.

Does anyone know if this is a known problem and know how i resolve this?

      Thanks in advance :)

Just to make sure this ius the steps i followed.

        1 downloaded retropie and windisk
        2. Formatted my micro sd and wrote retropie to it using windisk
        3. plugged in the micro sd to my raspberrypie and done controller set up
        4. plugged in my usb stick and let it write the emulator folders
        5. put roms into correct roms folders and plugged back into raspberrypie and switched it on (seemed to do something but still cant see emulators)

@mullen6 Newer images of Retropie do not have all the emulators installed as standard. You'll need to gonintobthebauto retropie setup and install which ones you want. Or, you can do the full install from there too.

Retropie in a NES - Pi 3 with Mausberry circuit shutdown switch wired to buttons and 8bitdo NesPro30 controller
Retropie in a Saturn Controller - Pi Zero, GPIO controls using DB9 driver
          Retropie in a PSX - Pi3

I done a full install from source in the setup area which took hours to run and still nothing :(

i then decided to start again and just install the snes and megadrive emulatore from manage packages but still doesnt seem to work.

I was wondering to install retropie over noob/raspbian? would formatting my micro sd card and only have the retropie image on there cause problems?

Simplest thing to do is to have a clean formatted card and then install the RetroPie image. Megadrive, SNES, NES, SMS are all installed by default, so if you can get it on your network, browse the \retropie and drop the roms in the right folder, then restart emulation station, see if they show up.

Any rom added won't show until emulation station is restarted

almost certain your roms are in the right format. eg for snes - give us an example of one that doesn't work - full filename and extension. see https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/super-nintendo-entertainment-system
