FBNeo high score saving trouble
-
@barbudreadmon I think I found another one:
fastlane
-
@weirdh hmmm, i just put the hiscore support code for this one, however i'm wondering if it actually works, usually the emulator would let me know after it found the hiscore memory range (most of the time, during attract), but this game is telling me nothing, 3 possibilities :
- it'll actually happen sometime later, maybe after you actually enter a hiscore ?
- the addresses in hiscore.dat are actually wrong (it happens sometimes), so it can't find them
- there is a bug in our hiscore feature
Please test again after updating, and let me know the result.
-
@barbudreadmon No luck. I set a score: after exiting and starting again, the game reverts back to the standard 20,000 score and names are also erased from the attract mode list.
-
@weirdh do you know if this game save hiscores in mame emulators ?
-
@barbudreadmon I currently use mame2003-plus for it and that does indeed save the scores. However, mame seems to have a semi-finished dipswitch implementation for the game, so that's another bit of weirdness going on there. But yeah, scores work.

@weirdh
fastlane
fixed, thanks again for letting me know ! -
@barbudreadmon Confirmed working, fantastic! Thank you once more for another fix.
-
@barbudreadmon Can't seem to get a score to stick in
aliens
. Is this correct or something on my end? -
@weirdh support for
aliens
was missing, it should be ok now ! -
@barbudreadmon Thanks for the fix. Found yet another, I think:
stmblade
also not saving scores for me... -
@weirdh it was missing too, support added
-
@barbudreadmon Fantastic, thank you.
-
@barbudreadmon Another one, probably:
osman
-
@weirdh It was missing indeed, support added !
-
@barbudreadmon Another pretty obscure one:
riskchal
-
@weirdh support added
-
Since this has become the 'official' topic for hiscore requests for FBNeo, I'll add one - Air Assault (Irem,1993 - romset
airass
) seems to have an entry inhiscore.dat
, but hiscores don't seem to be implemented in the driver and are not saved. -
@mitu done !
-
@barbudreadmon Thank you, now I can boast with my scores saved in this easy shmup (it's either very easy or I'm playing it on the lower difficulty).
-
@mitu Another one:
zeroteam
. It appears the game also suffers from some layers overlapping where they obviously shouldn't, so maybe it's not fully emulated yet? There is some information about the Seibu protection on http://adb.arcadeitalia.net.This entry says 'preliminary', but both clones seems ok emulation wise.
EDIT: Just tested, and
nzeroteam
andzerotm2k
also don't save scores for me.
