      It's me again!
      So, now that I can load .crt files, I still can't play any game using joystick.
      I know that by pressing F12 I have a lot of options regarding joystick configurations, but can't seem t make them work.
      So I ask for your help in order to guide me to configure correctly joystick using a gamepad, if you please :)

        @camurso so when you are in the options, go into "machine settings". Go into "joystick settings" and setup your "joystick device" in here you will notice "swap joystick ports" dont hit it now but some games use the 2nd controller. Get bdown to joystick mappings 1 & 2 and set up your controllers. Then go down to "extra joystick options". Set your menu activate and map to your controller. Then press the button that got you into the menu or your "menu activate" button to get back to the main menu page. Go down to "settings management". Choose "save settings on exit" it needs to show an asterick *. Choose save "joystick map" now if you go to play a game and the joystick isnt working, go into "machine settings - joystick settings" and choose "swap joystick ports" then back out back into the game. (There is nothing that shows you what joystick port you are using so you just have to blindly "swap joystick ports".

          @camurso

          I'm away from my setup at the moment, but it's important to remember that when you change your joystick mapping that you also save the configuration so that the settings persist throughout sessions. If you find that your controller mappings are being ignored, you probably need to switch the port order in the same menu that you originally mapped your controller in.

          Edit: My phonejitsu is much too slow.

                @edmaul69 I'm sorry, but I clearly must be doing something very wrong,..
                I followed your faq step by step but I'm stuck at
                "Go down to "extra joystick options". Set your menu activate and map to your controller. "

                I mean, I choose that option and all I get is a screen where it is written:
                Polling hotkey for:
                Menu activate
                And there is a timetou counter runninG...
                what must I do at this moment?

                  @camurso menu activate. Go into that. That is where you set the menu button to a controller button.

                    @camurso also i mapped both player buttons to my first controller. So playing games like 1943 battle of midway both buttons work. Doesnt work in 1942 or 1943 one year later though. Not sure why.
