I believe Nintendo released such a great controller last month!
    https://store-jp.nintendo.com/list/hardware-accessory/controller/HAC_A_LR3GF.html

I immediately purchased mine and it finally arrived.
However, when I tried to get retropie to recognize it, I could not input the bottom of the 3D stick properly!

Also, when I shake the controller, the input comes in by itself.
Do I need support from retropie to get this to work properly?

@yamanobe this may be the retropie n64 controller I've been waiting for! Sorry to hear about your issues though. Hope they get resolved

I think it's a loss for retropie that this great controller is still not available.

@yamanobe not available? like the PS5 isn't available or are you talking about mapping issues. It's still pretty new so it'll be sought after quite a bit. Not going to pay over £30 for this in any universe! I wish 8bitdo would start producing their ones again like they did about 4 years ago but discontinued it for some reason

I have the controller and I'm having the same issue. It doesn't seem to detect the analogue stick as x, y axis. Rather each direction is detected as -1, 1, and almost behaves like a digital input.

Which is odd as it is detected as an analogue stick okay in windows when connected via bluetooth.

Does it require a custom driver?

              Yes, it does.
I think we need retropie support for this controller.
How can I get my voice heard by the development team?

You did, by opening this topic. You maybe haven't realized, but RetroPie doesn't develop all the software/emulators/etc. included in the project - and that includes drivers for controllers.

From what I've seen online, the controller is not a 100% plug-and-play for a PC, some users have reported it works in Windows, others had issues with it. Haven't found any Linux related info, probably because it's just been released.

If someone manages to create a driver for Linux, you may be able to include it (something similar to the nintendo-hid Linux module that adds some extra capabilities for the Switch and SNES/NES controllers released by Nintendo). But until then, you can use it for what it is - a Switch controller.

@mitu Just to add it works out of the box fine for me on Windows 10, nothing fancy needs done to get it working. Not sure where the mixed messages have come from on that but can confirm it works perfectly.
