FBNeo high score saving trouble

@mitu Another one: zeroteam. It appears the game also suffers from some layers overlapping where they obviously shouldn't, so maybe it's not fully emulated yet? There is some information about the Seibu protection on http://adb.arcadeitalia.net.

This entry says 'preliminary', but both clones seems ok emulation wise.

EDIT: Just tested, and nzeroteam and zerotm2k also don't save scores for me.

@weirdh Indeed, zeroteam has some protection issues which prevent it from being fully emulated at this time, nzeroteam and zerotm2k should however be perfectly emulated as you noticed, and shouldn't be very different from parent. I just added hiscore support for those 2.

@sirhenrythe5th This game doesn't seem to exist in hiscore.dat, neither have a nvram i can save, so i don't think i can implement hiscore support for this one.

I also found another one: Bells & Whistles (KONAMI, aka "Detana! Twinbee") got achievement-support yesterday, but sadly does not save scores ;)

I just noticed something, though (maybe not the right thread): in Shadow Force, when you 'possess' an enemy (pressing both attack buttons while close), there's a little pop-up window showing a new move. This window flickers like crazy on FBNeo to the point that it's pretty much illegible. It does not do this on Mame2003+. (Unfortunately, M3+ uses the more annoying version 2, with 6 button lay-out.)

Is this an emulation issue? I'm on a Pi3B+ btw.

A good habit is to search for a video of the real hardware (just search "shadow force pcb" on youtube and you'll find a few, not all of them were useful though), i found something usable at

so i could confirm it was a bug.
Don't use mame as reference, there have been several occurences where bugs were reported to us because it was different from mame (current) while mame was the one actually broken.

I pushed a test fix, thanks for the report
