Hi, very new to a lot of this and have very limited experience so I apologize if I'm missing something.

I have done a new install on my pi 4 i just got. Everything is working except the playstation emulator. Most of the roms i have are in CHD format and i've verified they work within retroarch on my pc. Basically when i start any of the games i've put onto my pi, they go to the boot screen (where i can press a to configure) then go straight back to the menu. I have tried the PSXONPSP and SCPH101 BIOS. What is strange is i have crash bash both bin/cue and .chd on the pi and the bin/cue files work. I was under the impression chd files work for this version of lr-pcsx-rearmed. Below are specs, thanks for any help

I grabbed the runcommand file like it said for errors but i don't really see much. All it has is this:
      Parameters:
      Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-pcsx-rearmed/pcsx_rearmed_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/psx/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx/Armored Core (USA).chd" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

Pi Model or other hardware: pi 4
      Power Supply used: canakit
RetroPie Version Used: 4.7.2 (weekly build since my pi is new and wouldn't work on 4.7.1)
      Built From: 4.7.2 image
      USB Devices connected: none
Controller used: ps5 controller via bluetooth
      Error messages received: none
      Emulator: lr-pcsx-rearmed

I try Armored Core(usa)(v1.1).chd and it is working on lr-pscx rearmed.

My English isn't at a good level.

Ok verbose log below. Looks like it's saying "[libretro INFO] unsupported/invalid CD image: /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx/Clock Tower (USA).chd" (i did a different .chd just because they all fail the same)

i'm a bit confused by this. As i said, i'm running retroarch on my pc with the same .chd files and using the same libretro pcsx rearmed core

            Parameters:
            Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-pcsx-rearmed/pcsx_rearmed_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/psx/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx/Clock Tower (USA).chd" --verbose --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

Small thing to add, i meantioned i have both bin/cue and .chd formats of crash bash on the pi. The chd doesnt work and the bin does. the chd of this crash bash file was created from the CHDMAN program referenced on https://retropie.org.uk/docs/CHD-files/#creating-chds-from-cd-roms

Also comes up with the same unsupported/invalid image line.

libretro INFO] Loaded CD Image: /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx/Crash Bash.chd.
              [libretro INFO] unsupported/invalid CD image: /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx/Crash Bash.chd

I had already updated lr-pcsx-rearmed, but went ahead and updated all installed packages just to be sure. It still doesn't work.

I figured this out finally. I took the CHDMAN tool and exploded all of the CHD files into cue/bin files and it seems to be working. something must have been off about the version of the CHD files i guess.

I'm having this exact same issue with an older 4.3 image. Updated lr-pcsx-rearmed from source (r23) - the emulator runs fine for all other file formats but none of the CHD files I create from those files with chdman (mame0248b_version) will load. Getting the same verbose log message: "unsupported/invalid CD image". I was able to successfully build CHD files for segacd and pcengine in the past, so I don't believe it's an issue with chdman. Also tried swapping BIOS files to no avail. Has anyone had success running CHD files with the latest lr-pcsx-rearmed?

@ts-x With what games do you have issue? I will test it with the last version of the core.

@windg I tried Crash Team Racing and Bust-a-Move 2 (both bin/cue) but can try a few others tomorrow. Appreciate the help!

I try Crash Team Racing (chd) with RetroPie 4.8.2 and latest version of lr-pcsx-rearmed(build from source) and the game running without issues. I recommend to open a new topic and add all the necessary info:
