      Hello,

I recently installed a Retropie 4.0.3 on a x86 Debian Jessie. All is working fine except my USB Gamepad (PS2 controller with USB adapter).
My gamepad is working well (jstest /dev/js1 gives me correct things), but in Retropie, I can't configure it.
On startup, I get "1 gamepad detected", "Hold abutton.....", but when I press all the buttons of my gamepad, nothing appends.
What am I doing wrong ?
      Thank you for your help.
      Regards

          Hello,

The gamepad is an original PS2 controller and the usb adapter gives me that with lsusb :
Bus 004 Device 004: ID 0810:0001 Personal Communication Systems, Inc. Dual PSX Adaptor.

          Regards

@gastebois well, I use a dual adapter and original PlayStation controllers too, but with no issues (raspberry pi and x86 RetroPie flavor). I suggest you to change the adapter port (it has two ports, right?).

I had similar trouble with my SNES gamepad. It said "detected" but wouldn't advance past that.

What fixed it for me was plugging into the upper left USB port, closest to ethernet port. Apparently the USB ports have an order, and this is the "first" port.

Try running evtest to see if the input is being registered as an event. If it is, you can map everything to an xboxdrv virtual controller. From there your system will just think you're using an XBox 360 controller and work accordingly.
