Hori Nintendo Switch Fighting Stick mini
-
Hi everyone. I'm a rookie and have a question. I'm running retropie on a raspberry pi 3b+. I picked up a Hori Nintendo Switch Fighting stick mini and am having trouble configuring it so it will work on MAME roms. Controls just won't work with the games no matter how I configure it. Anyone have luck with this?

Can you please add some more details about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first ?
Which MAME emulator are you using/what game ? The libretro cores (
lr-mame2003
,lr-fbneo
) should be configured automatically, but if you're usingadvmame
, you need to configure the controls in the emulator by using the MAME menu (accessible using a keyboard, by pressing Tab). -
@Mikeyboy72 I use the same stick as you do (among others) and it works perfectly, with every emulator and arcade (MAME 2003+, MAME 2010 & FinalBurn-Neo).
Just make sure you configure it in EmulationStation (ES) and you'll be fine: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Controller-Configuration/
However, as @mitu states, the emulator must be libretro based in order to pick up the controller configuration as defined in ES. Otherwise you must configure the related non-libretro emulator itself to use the controller.

@mitu Thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond. I really appreciate it. I figured it out. The controller was correctly configured but was in the 2nd USB port, which I think made it act like it was "player two". I switched it and it's working perfectly!

@MrPacMan17 As I wrote above, thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond. I figured it out!
