I have all the emulators that are important to me running, including the Atari 5200. However, configuring the Atari 800 gives me problems. I don't get into the memo pad first to do the next steps. I select a game in the ES, the screen goes black and shortly afterwards I'm back in the ES. Can someone give me a tip here? The bios files are there, like described in the RP-Docs.

Everything a bit strange. The emu for the Atari 5200 is also the lr-atari800. This is where the games are running, so I can press F1 and then select everything else. But when I go to the Atari 800 in ES and select a game, shortly after the config screen I get back to the ES game selection. I've already copied the bios files from another source to /bios as a test, that doesn't change anything. I can also start the Atari 800 - Games if I select an Atari 800 Rom in the 5200 menu...

Hi. Yes they both us the same emulator, but have to be setup specifically otherwise you keep over riding the settings of each. It's tricky at first, but once you get it setup, it works great.

Did you have a look at this to thread? It's the go-to for how to properly setup Atari 800/5200 in RetroPie.
