      as my usual i have installed updates from retropie-setup to current commit to my Pi4 Retropie setup.

      I do usually every a lot of days and after i have installed the last recent commit i started noticing a strange "information bar" of retroarch when i lauch a games.

      This "Info Bar" (if the term is correct) it's appears for every games independently from system you choose to run.

      This appears immediatelly after the "runcommand" info...... you can see the games choosed it's be run and this info bar appears on your screen and contain the information about games choosed and core launched apparently.

      Look in recent changes in commit:
      https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/commit/2a5fb721e90350de31bfac223b0609361a0cc0f2

      There's add some newest configuration.... like this:

       # disable the load notification message with core and game info
          iniSet "menu_show_load_content_animation" "false"

          # disable unnecessary xmb menu tabs
          iniSet "xmb_show_add" "false"
      @@ -269,6 +282,9 @@ function configure_retroarch() {
          # (compat) keep all core options in a single file
          _set_config_option_retroarch "global_core_options" "true"

          # disable the content load info popup with core and game info
          _set_config_option_retroarch "menu_show_load_content_animation" "false"

      to show you what I mean I found this photo online:
      alt text

      I thinks it's ok the message about configuration override and the message about joypad autoconfigurated but it's the upper info bar.....
      I had never seen this info bar appear before the recent updates.

      If you thinks it's need i can try to take a photo to my TV and try to make a my personal example.......

      Thanks in advance for every info.......

      EDIT
      I have try to look my retroarch.cfg from my PC....
      I have open \\retropie\configs\all\retroarch.cfg

      and it's contain this value:

      menu_show_load_content_animation = "true"

      How it's possible..... it's the last commit it's not correctly installed on my retropie setup ?

        It is installed correctly, why would you think it's not ? Updates do not overwrite/override the user's configurations, so the code you quoted does not change your existing options.

          mmmmmmmmm... i had never touched and / or changed this setting so i guess it popped up somehow. It's possible ?

          Anyway just to confirm........ i have set ""menu_show_load_content_animation" to false on my current retroarch.cfg and it's work. This info bar has turned off.

          The strange situation it's how it's become activated :)

          And damn.. sorry for my bad english.
          I'm sure some translation from my italian it's not good.........

            When you use Save Configuration or Reset Configuration from the RetroArch menu, the full configuration is written to the .cfg file, with RetroArch's defaults - this is how you had this option already set.

            The update added the .info files for each libretro core, which made the notifications to pop-up.

                Strange...... trust me :) I haven't touched anythings for months inside the retroarch configuration.
                and I had never seen this bar appear before today.......

                Anyway the important things it's the simply solution to disable them :)

                  I also get that message since I updated to version 4.8.2 but I have looked in the retroarch.cfg file and I don't get that line. How do I remove it?
