Can't load save file - "Loading Task Failed" when hitting select+left Bumper

Power Supply used: Official RaspberryPi 12.5W power supply
RetroPie Version Used : 4.8.2

USB Devices connected: 64 GB USB Drive
Controller used: 8BitDo SNES Controller
Error messages received: "Loading Task Failed"
Verbose log (if relevant): Executing:

How to replicate the problem:
Hitting select + left bumper to load existing save file.This just started the other day. Can't think of any major change that caused it. Anybody know what is going on here?

We don't support Berryboot, so YMMV with this setup.
Does this happen for every game ? Check if your save file (saved state ) is not corrupted/empty. -
@mitu thanks for the info. Just double checked and it was actually from the pre made SD image on the RetroPie Website.
On save state corruption/empty, how would I check that? This isn't happening with other games, so I bet this is the case.

The save state file is a
.state
file in the same folder as the ROM (file name is the same as your ROM file). You can either overwrite it by doing another save or just remove the file.
