Emulator: mupen64plus various driversSo i have recently started playing with overclocking on the PI 3 and I got everything to function stably. I wanted to play around more with the mupen64plus and updated from source. all the games play great, however Killer Instinct will let me select a character and then it selects the matchup character, freezes, and kicks me out to emulationstation. When it kicks me out I can only use the joystick I have plugged into index 0. I can't access the runcommand with my keyboard either. I reboot the entire machine and everything works just fine. If you guys have any suggestions please let me know, also if I were to update from binaries could that possibly resolve the issue. I have played Killer Instinct for a while after overclocking and prior to doing the update. so I'm thinking that's where the issue lies. Thanks for all your assistance.

Why not try a different core?
-
maybe try another version/rom of that game?
-
Thanks for the thoughts. So I just tried using a different version of the rom.. No go on that one either. It freezes right as the match up is shown, meaning my character vs. Saber wolf after going down the tower of characters. Then kicks me out. It does load in lr-glupen64 but it is really slow. So I have also tried the different video options for mupen64plus to no resolution. Maybe something going on with it after the update?

In case anyone is still wondering about this, I reinstalled mupen64plus through the binaries. Now the game plays, albeit like its in slow motion. So I've got some tweaking and tinkering to do. Anybody playing ki on the retropie 3 stock (I reverted back to stock clock speeds due to overheating concerns)? If so have they found a setting/setup that's worked for them. Thanks again for all the suggestions.

I am currently running my Rpi3 stock and I find that 'mupen64plus-GLideN64-highres' runs 'Killer Instinct Gold' very smoothly.
-
Hmm... Alright might have to do some deeper digging on this one and see if I jacked something up in my cfg file or something. Thanks for the input.

Any luck with this? I am having the exact same problem. I've overclocked my pi and it seems that most of the games run smoothly except for KI, which is the reason that I overclocked it in the first place.

Hey guys, I to am using the most recent everything (ran a full retropie and pakages from binary update an hour ago). running a Pi3.
I have this exact same issue using mupen64-GLide HighRes, however if I run just mupen64 it runs at about 10 frames.
any ideas whats going on? I have seen videos as recent as August running KI GOLD on a retropie at full speed.
When I have slowed these videos down, I can see their launch options are mupen64-GLide HighRes... what gives? I have tried adjusting the render reso but this makes no difference.
Game crashes after the VS screen./
FYI I have tried approx 6 variations of roms from euro to USA to V1 to V1.2 same issue on them all.

@alrdtakn1 Sorry for the dig, but i'm also crashing after the character selection. Any chance you might have found a solution for this problem?

I should amend this comment, as I can no longer successfully run 'Killer Instinct Gold' either. However, as the software moves forward, these kind of regressions happen. Hopefully this game will come back around some time in the future.
