Hello. I was able to find an .iso and .cue of the game Genetic Species for the Amiga. I attempted to run the image using the lr-puae emulator on my Pi4B+. It only generated the Amiga CD32 logo, followed by the language selection screen. When I hit enter on the keyboard, the emulator looped back to the Amiga CD32 logo screen again. Can anyone tell me what I may have done wrong? I'd love to try this game, as I heard it is one of the best first-person shooters on the Amiga. Thanks.

From what I can tell Genetic Species is not a CD32 game - cannot be booted from the CD directly. You need an OS (Workbench) with CD support and you can start the game from the CD or a HD install of the game (though I think the audio tracks from the CD will not be used in this case).

I'm sorry if these questions sound noobish, but I'll go ahead and ask. Which version of Workbench should be used if I would launch it from the image I have? Would I need a specific set of kickstart roms? I have also recently encountered an issue starting Assasin: Special Edition. In this case, it shows the image of the hand on the disk with a "v1.3" on the lower right. Thanks again for your input. :-)

I'm not the most knowledgeable Amiga user, so this maybe the latest version (at the time) - 3.1 ? Not sure how lr-puae works with CD images though - it has CDTV/CD32 support, but not sure how you connect the CD image to an existing OS. I think Amiberry has support for mounting CD images, similar to WinUAE.

I thinks this means the right kickstart (perhaps v1.3) is missing ? What's the name of the file you're using to launch the game ?

I'm not an amiga user but I did find this info:

              https://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/genetic-species/techinfo

Looks like you probably need Kickstart 3.0 minimum.

I was able to find a another version of Genetic Species that was split up into .lha files. I won't say where, but you can find it in a certain place if you look hard enough. I unzipped the files within WinUAE (PC) and it created a Genetics folder with all of the files (the one that is the launcher is labeled in red as "Genetics." ). I made sure to choose the 3.1 revision 40.68 kickstart rom. It asked me to select the resolution, but after selecting low resolution under NTSC and the lowest possible dimensions, the emulated machine seemed to run out of memory. I know I'm almost there in getting this to work, but I'm wondering what I should do to these folders (maybe zip them up into a Genetic Species folder?) so that it can be read by one of the emulators successfully. If anyone has any more ideas, thanks for the help.

As far as Assasin - Special Edition goes, I used the same kickstart rom, but decided to delete the three .adf files it used in exchange for one .hdf file. It loads slowly, but it does seem to work. The original set seemed to be the wrong combination of roms, because the emulator kept trying to reload them until it brought me back to the game selection menu.
