      I was able to find a another version of Genetic Species that was split up into .lha files. I won't say where, but you can find it in a certain place if you look hard enough. I unzipped the files within WinUAE (PC) and it created a Genetics folder with all of the files (the one that is the launcher is labeled in red as "Genetics." ). I made sure to choose the 3.1 revision 40.68 kickstart rom. It asked me to select the resolution, but after selecting low resolution under NTSC and the lowest possible dimensions, the emulated machine seemed to run out of memory. I know I'm almost there in getting this to work, but I'm wondering what I should do to these folders (maybe zip them up into a Genetic Species folder?) so that it can be read by one of the emulators successfully. If anyone has any more ideas, thanks for the help.

      As far as Assasin - Special Edition goes, I used the same kickstart rom, but decided to delete the three .adf files it used in exchange for one .hdf file. It loads slowly, but it does seem to work. The original set seemed to be the wrong combination of roms, because the emulator kept trying to reload them until it brought me back to the game selection menu.

      @mitu said in impossible to build lr-PUAE on Intel NUC:

      Upstream project will fix their build on newer distros with a recent glibc, you'll have to wait until they do so to use lr-puae. Use an older Ubuntu LTS version or one of the other Amiga emulators available (lr-puae-2021, fs-uae) in the mean time.

      mmmm.. using a old version of lts it's not best idea for me. For absurd i have installed OS recently on this miniPC :)
      Try to consider fs-aue but reading this guide quickly:
      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/18409/guide-getting-emulationstation-to-work-with-fs-uae
      Need to re-read whit more accurancy and know if it's on my knowledge :)

      You're probably low on RAM - on an 64bit PC I thin you need at least 8Gb (if not more) to compile current MAME.

      mmmm also here.... my actually miniPC as only 4GB of ram DDR3. i can limit the usage of build in some mode (problably on future i can't build future version or update thru retropie-setup but but it's better than nothing) ?

      @nemo93 I haven't upgraded to the latest Amiberry because LR-PUAE has worked well for me. It's very quick to load games and game speed and sound are on par. So I haven't seen a reason/need to try it.

      For RPI4 better option is 2.6.1
      Dune need full cycles compatibility but newest version is too heavy for RPi and audio glitching.

      @mitu Thanks for the help - you're right I did have a settings override for the core, and I had no idea those settings contained the screen mode as well.
      So I had to delete the settings override file for the core, then set my screenmode in runcommand, then save my settings override again. All working now.

      Thanks for troubleshooting this

      I don't think this is documented anywhere, perhaps it should be.

      I think that's what's implied by

      To update WHDLoad: simply delete the directory or the HDF file

      but I agree is not that intuitive and most of the time users will start the emulator without the BIOS files, so the document may need some details.

      Thanks for the useful update @rkoster, I wasn't aware of those changes.
      The .lha files run under Retroarch for windows as well without problems!

      Not sure if it solves your problem but I managed to get mouse working with lr-puae by bringing up the virtual keyboard and there is a button called J/M to switch between joystick and mouse.

      never mind... if fixed it!

      1st i made a full .uae file like written in this thread. But that didn't work. Apparently the .uae only needs to have the drive settings and then it works. e.g. this for Canon Fodder i have this .uae file

      floppy0=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/amiga/Canon Fodder/CANFOD-1.ADF floppy0type=0 floppy1=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/amiga/Canon Fodder/CANFOD-2.ADF floppy1type=1 floppy2=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/amiga/Canon Fodder/CANFOD-3.ADF floppy2type=1 floppy3=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/amiga/Canon Fodder/CANDATA.ADF floppy3type=1

      with nothing else in it, and then it works...

      @rkoster
      I'd like to thank you for your effort in producing this guide and tool. I successfully managed to configure RetroPIe/Emulation/RetroArch/PR-UAE to run the converted LHA files. However, I have noticed a bizarre bug/issue and found a workaround for it which I will detail below:

      I have two laptops of similar specification. This is the process I followed:

      Clean install of Kubuntu Install RetroPie, basic installation and PR-UAE from optional packagaes Copy kickstart bios roms to RetroPie/BIOS folder Copy LHA files to /RetroPie/roms/amiga folder Followed the above guide and used the script to convert LHA files Ran a few games to test

      This process worked perfectly on one laptop, so I decided to try on another, however, when I tried to run some games from retropie/emulationstation, the games would not load ( I tried the same games that I played on the previous laptop), and I was taken back to the amiga games list in emulation station.
      I looked in the /dev/shm/runcommand.log but did not see anything different to the logs on the first laptop.

      I thought that maybe the PR-UAE installation/configuration was the issue so decided to test with an ADF file and the game loaded confirming that PR-UAE worked.
      Out of curiosity I tried another converted LHA and to my surprise it loaded successfully.
      I tried another converted LHA file but it didn't work.
      I loaded the same ADF again successfully, then tried the converted LHA from the previous step and it loaded.

      So for some reason on this laptop, in order to successfully load a converted LHA, I must first load an ADF - this is tedious for 60+ games, but once the LHA has loaded once, it will load again without having to run an ADF first.

      Anyway, this was my experience. I have no idea why this happened, but I thought I would share just in case other people would benefit from it.

      Thanks again for creating this guide and tool!
