      This is the reply i received in github:

      It is caused by the recent change which treats --appendconfig like overrides to make it work with overrides. The override notification can be hidden.

      If i understand correct, this is not a issue, and it can be ignored or hide.

      My English isn't at a good level.

        @windg thanks for following this up - I assumed this would be the case. Adding

        notification_show_config_override_load = "false"

        will remove the notification on load. Maybe we should make it the default, though the notification would be useful for cases where there is a 'real' override loading.

          Thank you very much! I just test it and the message didn't appear.

            That is interesting!, i searched for this configurations in the global retroarch.cfg to deactivate some and did not find them.
            So you have to add them?
            I guess they are all similiar?
            I.e. would

            notification_show_input_override_load" = "false"

            decactivate the messages concerning the controller-mapping-overrides?

            EDIT: i think i found the right commands, i will try these here:

              The skeleton retroarch.cfg that's distributed by RetroArch doesn't have this (rather recent) option, so you'll not find it there. You can add it manually until we find a solution to quiesce this warning.

                I have two retropie installations, a raspiberry pi 3b+ and a zorin OS PC based on Ubuntu x64, both with the same problem.

                PS. I went to observe now, and I can no longer save the retroarch settings.
                I go to:

                Main Menu.
                Configuration File.
                Save Current Configuration.

                And allways get the message:
                Failed saving config to
                "opt/retropie/configs/fba/retroarch.cfg"

                With all the emulators I've tested.

                  The RetroArch dev's, revert the change that caused the message to appear during the game start.

                  As for the other issue, don't use the save configuration option in RetroArch because is breaking the skeletal file retroarch.cfg and many issues arise from this. Use the configuration editor from RetroPie menu.

                    No, the change wasn't reverted, but a modification was added so using --appendconfig only wouldn't pop-up the override message. This change was added to our retroarch package, so any further updates won't have this issue.

                    Thanks to @windg for reporting it upstream.

                      I solved the problem by downgrading the retroarch version, I have the version 1.11.1, both on the PC and on the raspberry pi 3b+.

                        Wow - is it worth this drastic step? :O
                        The "problem" is just a message showing up where it should not.
                        OK, maybe annoying, but not destroying :D

                        btw, the other solution to get rid of the message by adding the "notification_show_[...]"-syntax does work as well, no need to downgrade IMO!

                          @wmarcio You didn't have to downgraded but to update the ReroArch package, as the Retrorch dev's changed this, and the message not anymore appear .

                            @windg The problem is not that the message appears, but that I cannot save the settings I made, easily and quickly through retroarch.

                              Yeah it's not worth it to downgrade just to get rid of a notification and sacrificing a lot of updates/fixes that the latest retroarch has.

                                @wmarcio You should open a separate topic with your system details and a also post a verbose log (use pastebin.com to post it).
