Handheld Pi in a Super Nintendo Controller?!

Over on Reddit someone posted that they took a Gameboy Micro and put it in a Super Nintendo controller.
Oh man, this has me wondering if it could be done with a Zero…What do you think? Would everything fit?

Someone already squeezed a battery powered Zero in, so it's looking like adding a screen may be doable. Not sure about a speaker though…

You may have to 3D print a spacer to make the controller alittle thicker then normal to pack in all the stuff but it should be pretty easy.

@obsidianspider I would say yes it is possible, but I think you would need a custom PCB to hold it all together. Otherwise the stack of pcb's would be too big.

@obsidianspider Bro, here is an idea I was thinking about today. I think you can use the RPi3 in a small case too if you desolder the network cable connector, usb ports (you can use a separate port by soldering the wires to the pad). It should be really flat if you removed those connectors, and it should still work. I have no idea why no one else did this before.

@PetroRie there are a few people who have stripped a pi3 to get it into a case but they tend to put them in Gameboy cases as they are still quite large even when they are flat (in terms of a handheld anyway) you also need more space for power too
There is a black Gameboy on here somewhere with a pi3 for brains. Even has an analogue stick!

I'm still refining the design to be honest. I did a second version that turned out a bit cleaner and used a 2 port USB hub stripped down just to the PCB in order to add wifi for scraping or connect a keyboard when needed. That worked but wasn't perfectly reliable but I just ordered a Pi Zero W for my next build and I'm designing this 3rd version to be modular. I think it'll turn out pretty good.
I use this USB Gamepad for the build and I really like it.
This was version 1 and this is version 2.
