No HDMI audio after setting up Bluetooth audio
-
Hello there!
I needed to use Bluetooth headphones with RetroPie on my RPi 4B 8GB. So i found this tutorial:
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/20338/tutorial-bluetooth-audio-on-retropie-v4-4-and-raspberry-pi-3-model-b
and after following the instructions i indeed made bluetooth audio work on my Pi.To be precise i did the following:
$ sudo apt-get install pulseaudio-module-bluetooth $ sudo adduser pi bluetooth
Then added a line to /etc/pulse/default.pa:
/etc/pulse/default.pa ----------------------------------- load-module module-switch-on-connect
Then connected Bluetooth headset through Bluetooth menu:
RetroPie -> BLUETOOTH -> Register and Connect to Bluetooth Device
And finally set connect mode to "background":
RetroPie -> BLUETOOTH -> Configure bluetooth connect modeAfter that Bluetooth audio started working. The problem is that HDMI audio stopped working completely. When i disable Bluetooth headset i don't have audio at all. The sound volume meter in sound settings is constantly set to 0 now and when i try to set it to a higher value it returns back to 0 and i also get the following error:
VolumeControl::init() - Failed to find mixer elements!
Actually it's not really critical since i mostly play in wireless headphones anyways but it would be cool if RetroPi could switch back to HDMI audio when i disable the headset. Maybe somebody knows how to make it happen or why this mistake happens at all?
Thank you.My system:
Raspberry Pi 4B 8GB
RetroPie Version: 4.8.2Sound Settings:
Audio Card: Default
Audio Device: HDMI
Enable Navigation Sounds: On
Enable Video Audio: On
OMX Player Audio Device: Both
(haven't changed any of them from defaults)
