    Hi guys!!! How are you? I finished my arcade machine with my own splash and some mods, i want to change emulationstation loading screen and change it for some image that fit with the theme of my arcade. I change the splash.svg for one created by me in adobe illustrator but when raspberry boot ups dont display nothing, only appears a black screen and the systems loading at the botton of the screen. Any ideas? In some forums i read i must compile it but i dont know how to do it and if its works. Thanks for your help and Merry Christmas!!!

      You can add your own splash.svg by copying it into \\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\resources. That folder doesn't exist, so you have to create it first. Make sure you're using a similar sized image to the built-in splash.svg.

          @codafire

          dunno, im on Retropie 4.6 and splashscreen folder location (as per the Retropie Wiki) is located

          /home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens

          but.. i just tried a *.svg file and it didn't work

          tried a *.png and *.jpg and it did work.

          maybe give that a try.

              @codafire Hey, I am having the same issue. What did you do to the background to fix this?

                I'm raising this thread because I'm trying the same thing. I've created the folder \retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\resources and created an svg image with the resolution that is recommended, otherwise I'm wrong it's 720x720 but it doesn't load, it tells me error parsing svg image , it is mentioned that it was solved but it is not said how

                  This means your .svg file is not understood by EmulationStation, so the file is read (which was the point of the topic here). Post a link to the .svg and how you created it and we can check the file is correct - but please open a separate topic for this.
