Hi there, I have a ps3 controller and I bought a new one (not official ps3 controller) to play as a second player with friends.
the thing is that when I connect this new controller to the pi the light 1 and 4 turn on and is nort recognized by emulation station.

I did some reasearch on the web and when I list the usb devices connected appears as "Xbox 360 controller" but is a dual shock 3.

      which could be the cause?

      hope someone can help me

      thanls

Please add some info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

Looks like you have a 'multi-system' gamepad, which tries to see if it's connected to a PS3 and present itself as a PS3 controller or a PC and disguise itself as a Xbox 360 controller.

For wired Xbox controllers, the xpad driver should be handling the gamepad connection, but we had some reports with similar gamepads (Shanwan PS3 clones) when it doesn't manage to initialize the gamepad correctly and the gamepad doesn't work. Make sure you're using the latest xpad driver (update it from the RetroPie driver package section) and try again.
