More specifically, how do you change the CD loading time settings for PS1? or is that something that doesn't exist?
from my understanding, PS1 emulators can reduce the time it takes for games to go through loading.

Im wondering how to do this for the retropie emulator.

@PhtevenTheSecond you can use an uncompressed format like BIN+CUE instead of a compressed format like CHD. You can use a USB storage device with faster read/write access than the SD card has. You can use a Linux PC instead of a Raspberry Pi. I don't think there is any artificially-induced "emulated loading time" to be turned or disabled.

Edit: you can turn off the BIOS loading animation as a "core option," but this might already be disabled by default.

so when a game says its loading in-game , what is happening there? for my games, it feels like its no faster than a ps1 console. I don't know much about the ps1 to be honest but i would imagine that it would be slower than the raspberry pi.

@PhtevenTheSecond depends on the game. There's some core settings that can be changed to adjust the loading to an extent. Do beware though that certain games have the load times baked in as part of the games audio and other mechanics, so removing them would screw up the game. Smackdown 1 and 2 are good examples of this I think
