      Hello,

      I recently purchased a Rii RK707 controller
for use with Retropie, whenever I connect the USB dongle nothing happens. It doesn't do anything with Emulationstation open or in the bash shell. I've tried both the controller and the keyboard with no success. Not sure what logs to check so any help is appreciated!

      System details:

      • Pi model: Raspberry PI 4 model B
      • Power supply: 5V 3A Power Supply
      • Retropie version: 4.8
      • Built from: Raspberry Pi Imager
      • USB devices connected: Rii RK707 controller
      • Controller used: PS4 controller

Does it have any kind of switch to choose what kind of connection is chosen by the device (Android/PC/etc.) ?

@mitu Thank for the reply! It has a button to change the mode of the device:

          • Purple light: direct input mode
          • Red: x-input mode
          • Blue: android mode

I've attempted changing the mode but when I connect to the retropie it's always in the direct input mode (purple light). It will not switch. While connected to other devices though (macbook, win laptop) it works without issues, I am able to switch modes and use the device.

Can you post the system logs from the X-Input conenction mode:

            1. run sudo dmesg -c
            2. switch the device into X-Input mode
            3. run dmesg and post the output.

@mitu It won't change modes while connected to the pi. It's stuck in direct input mode. Works fine on my laptops though (Mac, windows)

@zommggg without any logs we can't see how the system detects the Rii, if you can post them then maybe we can try something based on the errors/messages shown.
