GPi Case 2, Screen slightly to high / offset
-
Hello, thats my first RetroPie project and it works pretty well so far. But i see that in EmulationStation the screen is a little bit too high so i got a small black border below.
I tried to set overscan, even the Dot by Dot instructions in the Documentation but it doesnt change anything. I only need to adjust the screen a few pixels down. Left and right are okey. Do you have any suggestions?RetroPie v4.8

Did you choose a different resolution from runcommand menu ?
Also, did you uncomment the overscan settings? They must be like this :
#disable_overscan=1 overscan_left= add your value overscan_right= add your value overscan_top= add your value overscan_bottom= add your value
Positive nalue = smaller screen
Negative value = bigger screenYou have to restart for the chnage to take effect.

thank you, i got it. Screen is fixed.
But when RetroPie boots with connected charging cable the screen looks like above again. Thats weird.
On battery all is fine.. -
Is strange indeed, i don't understand why charging affect this. I checked the web site here : https://retroflag.com/gpi_case_2.html, when you are saying that you are charging it, do you mean in the docking base? Maybe in the docking state it output a different resolution.
Try to comment this line in the config.txt file :
from
overscan_scale = 1
to be#overscan_scale = 1
to see if it make any difference.It looks also, that web page offer a display patch for RetroPie, do you have install it ?

@windg
It does make no difference. Display patch is installed too. But the problem is no longer so important to me. But thank you very much =)
