      Hi everyone,

I just managed (with great satisfaction) to design and build a small IO board for a CM4 module.
The video output is on DISP0, I followed all the guides (and other posts that refer to the topic) and with Raspberry Pi OS everything works wonderfully.
      instructions at https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentati ... splay-only
and also change "dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d" to "dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d" in config.txt

I can't say the same thing with Retropie unfortunately (which is my final goal), where, despite performing the same operations, the display remains completely black and shows no signs of life.

I'm more familiar with hardware than software, I seem to have understood that retropie runs on an older version of the Raspberry Pi OS system, could this be the problem?
Does anyone know a possible solution?

      Thank you!

The RetroPie image, yes, it's based on an older RaspiOS Lite version, but support for newer versions of Raspi OS is being worked on and you can manually install RetroPie onto an existing/functioning OS - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Manual-Installation/.

Is your display working without Xorg/Wayland (i.e. with the Lite version of RaspiOS) ? You mentioned that RaspiOS is working - which version of RaspiOS did you test/used ?

I used the raspberry pi imager with the last release! Today I will try to install retropie on the working version of raspberry pi os. Thanks!

Installing retropie on the raspberry pi os (lite) was successful. There are some errors that I don't really understands but everything seems working correctly

If you post them here, we may be able to assist in fixing those or at least see if they are meaningful.
