GZDoom and OpenGL error
-
I'm very new to Raspberry Pi's RetroPie, (I've just finished building a PiCade 10".
I'm trying to get Doom Freedom1/2 to run, however when I select the games from the emulation station they don't run. I've installed GZDoom, and the WADs. The logfile contains the following error "At least OpenGL 3.3 is required to run GZDoom."
How do I get GZDoom working?

Please add some info about your setup, as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@James_Screech I know they recently added GZDoom to RetroPie setup scripts, but it may not be the best option for a Raspberry Pi.
LZDoom is better for low end hardware, but you'd need to configure the controls.
lr-prboom is your best bet for a simple running out of the box experience if you are simply trying to play the D00M WADs. -
A more lightweight alternative is also
dsda-doom
, also included in RetroPie.gzdoom
should be able to run on a Pi4 and (low resolution) Pi3 with its GLESv2 renderer, though you'll not be playing Sunder with either of them on a Pi. -

Depends on what you are doing with it.
I have gzdoom installed on my pi4 which is a little OC and as long as I don't have heavy mods going. It plays very well.
Some slow downs for sure but if you edit it right and use the right mods. You definitely can have fun.
On a pi3 though I can see it being more of a problem
