      Hello peeps! So I'm running a manual install of RetroPie on a Raspberry Pi 5 8gb and I can't get any form of game save to work. If I use an in-game save, it acts normal but no file is created, so when I open the game again that save slot is empty. When I save state, it remains at 0% and the game starts stuttering. Exiting the game at this point doesn't work and I'm forced to hard reset the Pi. I have used the RetroPie utility to reset permissions, and have run a full update for RetroPie, RetroArch, and all cores. I can find no errors in runcommand.log after using an in-game save, and because nothing responds after trying to create a save state, I can't access the log afterwards.

        It's possibly to write any data in the sd card ? I am asking to see if the sd card get read-only.

            A new update for RetroArch released few days ago, update RetroPie Setup script and then reinstall the Retroarch package and try again.

            Did you have add the the below line into /boot/firmware/config.txt file ?

            kernel=kernel8.img

              @abj My bad, I forgot to mention I had to add that line before the Mupen core would run. I'll try reinstalling retroarch again, though, and let you know how it goes.

                @manD0rk I have saves working, but have run into a new problem. I've moved it over to the TV it will be running on, and the resolution is always 3840x2160 @30hz no matter how many times I switch it to 1080p @60hz through RetroArch settings. I'll move that issue to a new thread if you guys want me to. Update: the resultion change worked, though it's shoved up in the top left of the screen, so it must be a 4k tv. It's still running slow with stuttering gameplay and audio. When this was plugged into a 1080p tv I was first setting this up on, games ran at speed and the audio was fine. So now I just need to figure this out.

                  @manD0rk

                  Revert resolution changes in the retroarch and set the global resolution to 1080p from here:

                  Add to the end of cmdline.txt file the following:

                  video=HDMI-A-1:"add_your_width"x"add_your_height"M@"add_your_refresh_rate"

                  Example for 1080p 60HZ resolution:

                  video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080M@60

                  *cmdline file is in the boot partition.

                    @abj I finally got over to my buddy's house where the pi is, and made those changes and the resultion is correct, but everything still seems to run at half speed with garbled audio, even NES games.
