RetroPie games not working on some emulators
-
Hey. Most of my games will not load. I've downloaded a lot of GBC and SNES games but pretty much anything else doesn't work. It doesn't work on new emulators, I've tried replacing with different emulators, reinstalling, updating, but nothing will work. It will just go black for 2 seconds and go back to the game selection.

Arcade games are known to 'not load' if you're using the wrong romset version - see the documentation for a quick start. For the other emulators - 3DO and Amiga need BIOS files to be added to the corresponding BIOS folder to work, make sure you have the right BIOS files also copied.
-
@mitu by the way, it is not just those emulators that don’t work- even some of the ones preinstalled via binary- not sure if my Roms are bad or smth..

lr-mame
Read https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Arcade/ (and possibly https://docs.libretro.com/guides/arcade-getting-started/ which goes into more details). Don't expect arcade emulation will work if you don't.
As for the other emulators, you should read their documentations too.

it is not just those emulators that don’t work..
Most ROM files are known and their checksum can be easily verified against a known source of information like https://datomatic.no-intro.org or (for cd-rom ISO files) http://redump.org/. SNES/NES/GBA emulation is pretty much working fine so if you have issues with that, then I'd double check the ROM files.
For arcade games, do follow @barbudreadmon's advice and read the docs first for it.
If you feel that it's an emulator problem then provide a verbose log from running the emulator with the game(s) in question. Use pastebin.com to post the log file's content. -
@mitu thank you I will read it, but before this post is removed do you have any good ROM sites? I use RomsPedia but I’m still looking for another good site.
-
@Garrett216 we don't remove posts, even if they breach the forum rules, except for outright spam posts. As for your question - this is not a ROM site, see rule 1. of the forums.
-
@mitu I don’t really know anything about BIOS files. Could you tell me more about them cause I don’t know where to get them.
-
@Garrett216 or where to put them..
-
@Garrett216 LET'S GOOO I GOT lr-opera WORKING!!!!
I just installed the wrong .BIN file, i just removed panafz1.bin and replaced it with panafz10.bin and it worked.
-
@Garrett216 Now I can try the other ones- wish me luck.

Getting a core to work is usually a matter of reading its documentation, not a matter of luck.
