        Install the xpadneo driver from RetroPie-Setup's drivers section and try again pairing the controller.

            @mitu I just tried through command line as well and it says that the connection was successful but it still shows the controller in pairing mode

              Remove all the existing pairings of the controller in the Bluetooth menu and re-pair it. Is the firmware updated on the Xbox controller ? If not, please do so before attempting to pair via Bluetooth.

                @mitu
                No exiting pairings are connected
                I updated the firmware on the xbox controller and tried a different controller and same results
                I tried a few reboots and disabling and re-enablaing bluetooth
                I also followed this guide i found
                video removed.
                I even attempted a fresh install
                But it just keep doing the same

                I ended up just getting a bluetooth dongle earlier today as i saw others mention it might just be the best option

                I definitely appreciate the help though

                  Did you also updated RetroPie-Setup ? To get the lastest version of the xpadneo driver you also need to update RetroPie. I guess is not that important now, but xpadneo is the go-to driver when it comes to Xbox Bluetooth controllers.

                  I also followed this guide i found

                  Not so surprising, the author is just a scammer posing as a 'retro gaming enthusiast'. You'll notice it's also not using RetroPie, but a 3rd party image/fork. I'll remove the video link, since I don't want to legitimize their channel.

                    I get exactly the same behavior.
                    Try to pair with the original Xbox One controller and i'll immediately get "Authentication Canceled".
                    Any help is greatly appreciated.
