I've downloaded Punch Out (punchout.zip) Everything in the ROM folder/zip is installed all the roms chips, sounds, etc Yet it won't emulate very well when running it on FBNeo. The volume is very low, the KO meter graphic is missing as well as sounds. I tried MAME2003 but that would not work along with the others. My question is, what version in 2024 will Punch Out 100% work on?

You can see my issue when running it on FBNeo in this video.

@WildDog You are going about it backwards. You don't download an arcade game and then try it in random emulators. What you should do instead is find the correct rom for the emulator you are running. Arcade roms are often updated as chip readers get more accurate and newer versions of emulators use newer dumps of roms. So, pick the emulator you want to use, let's say mame2003, and use the appropriate rom version for that emulator (mame2003 uses the 0.78 rom set).

Use the chart found here https://retropie.org.uk/docs/MAME/ to see what rom version you need for your choice of emulator.

@Thorr69 Hi, thank you for getting back to me. I did download a different version of Punch Out that works perfectly with MAME2003.

The one caveat is it does NOT save the high scores even though I opened up in RetroArch settings and have Hiscore enabled and set to "recursively"

Should I be downloading a hi. file as well? if so, where do I add that?

@WildDog Not my expertise there. You should make sure you are exiting the game properly to ensure that if the game is able to retain scores, it will. (Turning off the machine will not let scores save. You have to exit the game with the hotkey combo.)
