      Pi Model: 3 B
      RetroPie Version: 4.0
      Built From: SD Image
USB Devices connected: PS3 original controller
      Controller Used: PS3 original controller

Good day all, the problem I’m having are with the PiFBA (FBA) and Neogeo (or basically all arcade games)but only the keyboard works. Everything else works great otherwise (psx, n64, snes, nes etc)with the ps3 controller, can someone please help with getting the ps3 controller to work in FBA and neogeo..???

Or should I start over from scratch..?

@washie Sorry for not having an answer to your question. But you said you are using a raspi3, do you really need to use pifba? lr-fba-next works fine on raspi3 and, as a libretro core, you'll get your controller working as fine as in other emulators.

I'm sure you can find a 0.173 MAME romset to use with lr-fba-next using your favourite web search engine.

hey meleu, thanks for the response. Honestly I haven't gotten any of my roms to work with the lr-fba-next lol and yes I'll try the 0.173 MAME romset because at the moment I'm only interested in getting the metal slug games to work with the ps3 controller......

but again I'll do some looking around and see....thanks again..!!!

@washie I forgot to mention: I a big fan of pifba because I can play, for example, Marvel vs. Capcom with a satisfactory performance on my raspi1 (to be honest, this is the only reason :-) ). But I use an USB wired arcade-like control. I had no luck with bluetooth controllers on pifba. Since I'm happy playing with my arcade controller, I didn't even try to make the bluetooth controllers work. I gave up on the first failed attempt.

hmmmmmmm thanks for the info, I haven't tried any of the games with a USB controller so I'll look into it... but if anyone has the Metal Slug roms that can work with lr-fba-next pls share lol

I'll mark this as solved as of a workaround...

@washie In the Managing ROMS wiki we can see that the lr-fba-next is (currently) the fba 0.2.97.38 and you want the reference romset for this fba version...
