Hi all, hope you can help!

I got the new 8bitdo m30 for Xbox assuming it would be recognised by Retropie as an Xbox series X controller but when I plug it in the led just flashes and it's not detecting the controller.

I know the other versions of the m30 have shortcuts to switch to d-input mode but can't find anything for this one.

    I'm on raspberry pi 3.

This is the exact controller I've got: https://www.amazon.co.uk/8Bitdo-Controller-Windows-6-Button-Layout/dp/B0CNPST9GY

Since this is a wired Xbox controller, it should work with either the xpad or xone drivers. On the vendor page, is listed as being supported on the Xbox and Windows 10 only - they're not even listing Linux as supported (which is what RetroPie's uses as operating system).

We include the latest version of the former driver, are you up-to-date on your RetroPie installation ? You haven't provided the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

For the xone driver, you have to manually install it from https://github.com/medusalix/xone (they have the install instructions on the project page), it may work with it.

Can you run the following commands and post the output here in the topic ? If xpad is not recognizing the gamepad, we can try and force the driver to load is we know the device's Vendor and Product Ids

        lsusb
        cat /proc/bus/input/devices
