Hi everyone, I just updated the version of Retropie on my GPI Case to 4.8.9 and it gives problems with the size of the splash screens both in video and images. I attached a photo. It seems to be due to the implementation of VLC Media Player. Does any colleague know how to solve this? Thank you very much and forgive my English.image1.jpg image2.jpg

I am having the exact same issue. I upgraded to Retropie 4.8.9 and now all of the splash screens are too big. I'm not finding an option to resize this, but I also don't remember having to do so in previous Retropie versions.

vlc should resize the image/video to the available viewport size, I just tested this and it works fine.
What's the default resolution of the GPI case ? Is the system up-to-date - what version does vlc --version reports ?

@mitu I believe the GPi case is 320x240 and is a 4:3 ratio.

My system is up to date. Version of VLC is:

VLC media player 3.0.17.4 Vetinari (revision 3.0.13-8-g41878ff4f2)
          VLC version 3.0.17.4 Vetinari (3.0.13-8-g41878ff4f2)

OK, the version is fine; I just have to test 320x240, the lowest working resolution I can generate now is 480p. Could be that vlc behaves differently at such lower resolution and instead of resizing, it just crops the image.
