      So, I have the bios for both AES and MVS
      I was told putting AES in will play the games in home console mode.

      If both BIOS are installed, will I get to choose between home and arcade versions?

      There were some minor, but noticeable differences.
      (Censorship, limited lives, more content, etc)

      I.E.
      Magician Lord AVS has cutscenes and is easier
      Certain Games like King of Fighter's removes Mai's bounce on American AES, and the blood from Metal Slug.
      Etc etc.

        @Jiryn besides of the minor differences in some gameplays (plus violence/ red blood in games like Samurai Showdown & Metal Slug) you are able to save/load from the NeoGeo-MemoryCards (it was possible to play on AES at home and continue in the Arcade with your MC) .

        I use a parent romset of "neogeo.zip" called "UNI-BIOS 4.0", which is a kind of "all-in-1-package",
        In fact i only use the MVS-Bios as i want to play for achievements and they are all connected to the MVS-Versions of the games (with very few requiring AES, i.e. "Alpha Mission 2".

        So...games may be easier as you can change the level fdrom default (4) to lower levels directly (in MVS: via DIP-Switches) and you can save/load states.
        But (IMO) the real NEOGEO-experience is with MVS only.

          @sirhenrythe5th
          The 2 Bios files i have are AES.ZIP and NEOGEO.ZIP
          I was just wondering if there really was a reason for AES

          What emulator are you using?
          How would you access dip switches?
          Achievements?

            @Jiryn
            i am using the awesome lr-FBNEO Emulator, which is installed by default, for NEOGEO and most of the arcade-roms.
            As a second option i use lr-MAME (current) for those few roms, that FBNEO does not support and i wish to have.

            The DIP-Switches can be accessed by a Key-Combo that you can define in Retroarch/Core-Options.
            AFAIR this option is called "diagnostic key" and the default input is "holding START-Button" (during gameplay/rom running).

            Retroachievements are the cream on the cake imo!
            Similar to Playstation-Trophys or XBOX-Achievements, just better (great widgets, leaderboards for all kind of stuff...)
            Concerning Arcade-Achievements: only lr-FBNEO is supported, another point for this masterpiece.
            As far as you want to play for achievements: keep your fingers away from the DIP-Switches as only default settings are supported (which is more than fair)
            Fo further information just have a look here:
