Hello, long term user of retropie on various raspberry pis.

I have just done a fresh install on a pi5 with an nvme.

I am using an Xbox one controller via Bluetooth. Had some initial problems getting this set up with xpadneo (installed from retropie setup driver menu). The controller would connect on the Bluetooth settings menu but I would never get the vibration to confirm that it had connected and it was not detected on the configure controller input menu where you map the buttons.

Eventually I uninstalled xpadneo from the retropie menu and instead went to terminal and installed by cloning the git repo and running install script from there and doing pair, trust, connect manually. This managed to get it working.

At this point I can now use the controller and I go to setup steam link. I connect to my windows desktop using the keyboard and everything looks ok. Controller is marked as connected and I can use the steam client except the Xbox controller which it says is connected is totally unresponsive.

Does this sound more like a steam link software issue failing to accept the input or my install of xpadneo being unable to pass the input to steam link?

Are there any logs I can get from steam link that might help identify where the problem lies?

I tried rebooting and updating controller firmware but I'm not sure what my next move is or whether I would be better asking on a steam community forum.
