@mitu I am using Comicbook maybe that's why

CommicBook has a MD/Genesis logo, so that shouldn't be an issue. Try re-installing the theme and check afterwards.

@mitu thanks. Any solution for my Retropie that crashes at every launch? I can't seem to see what caused the problem. I have to reboot all the time for it to work.... thanks ahead

Try to look into the EmulationStation log when the crash happens - the message with the error you posted is a generic one that's printed when ES crashes, but check the log file in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_log.txt. Post the file's contents, taken immediately when the crash message happens.

I've seen ES crashing when the gamepad's connection is unreliable - usually when the USB cable is bad or there's not enough power supplied to the system. etc. Is your gamepad connected when the crash happens ? You didn't mention how the 8bitdo SNES 30 pro is connected (USB or Bluetooth).

I am using a wired controller. Like before Emulation station would crash when I plugged in my controller in the menu. Right now it crashes right when I boot up EmuStation after I see all the code lines. Here's what I saw after the crash. After reboot it works fine tho

I don't see a crash related error in the log file, but the last message is about a Microsoft Xbox 360 controller being detected, which is weird since you said you're using a 8Bitdo controller. Did you install the xboxdrv driver ?

@mitu my snes 30 is detected as a Xbox controller I don't really know why it does that. I haven't downloaded the Xbox driver but I can try... As I said yesterday the Pi immediately crashed when booting up the system. And indeed there is no error message that's why I am totally lost... I have tried to change the theme back to carbon to no avail unfortunately

How are you trying to do that, exactly ? Changing it from the EmulationStation menu and then rebooting cleanly should save the configuration (w.r.t. the theme selected) and EmulationStation should start with the new chosen theme automatically.

@mitu that's what I am doing. I have reverted back to Carbon through this method but it doesn't fix the crashes at boot

Well, yes - I don't think ES would crash because of that.

Can you run the following command after it crashes on boot, but before you reboot the Pi, and post the output:

                        /opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation/emulationstation --debug

@Skum1988 Make sure you properly type the path to emulationstation, it should be there. Did you install the emulationstation-dev packagee ? If so, then the path is slightly different (/opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation-dev/emulationstation instead).
