Got a bit of a problem with .HDF files on the EmulationStation side of things. the retropie guides say that HDF can be loaded, this is so but they do not show up in ES and do not appear in Amiga entry in the systems.cfg file.
Seems that we didn't add it to
platforms.cfg
, will fix this - thank you for the heads up. -

The RetroPie guides mention that they can be loaded, but they aren’t showing up in EmulationStation or the Amiga entry in the systems.cfg file.
They should appear now, if you update RetroPie-Setup and then re-install Amiberry/P-UAE.

@mitu I have updated. They appear for me now :) Thanks.
Does LR-PUAE have a JIT ? Standard Amiberry no longer does, I'm in need of an Amiga emulator with a JIT to run some of the more demainding CPU games like Gloom Deluxe.
Also If anyone has a list of the posts or any suggestions for which are good, let me know.

Yes, I think it does.

Doesn't Amiberry Lite or the Amiberry version included in RetroPie have JIT ?
-
@mitu Amyberry doesn't any more, the button is there but it cannot be selected. I'm newly back to this, the last version I used was 4.x which did. Amiberry Lite does have a JIT but I couldn't find it on the download list. Is it part of RetroPie?
Is there a plan to update Amiberry at all? The source version is still v3.3. I seem to recall there was some sort of lock put on it becasue of compatability issues with 4.0.

Not yet, but it will be at some point.

No, it's not. Source version is the same as binary version - 5.7.1 for RPIs. If it's still at 3.3 you're not using the latest RetroPie-Setup.
-
@mitu It is possible my script is old but I only downloaded and installed from scratch the other week. If it's fixed to a newer version then there is no problem.

The switch from 3.3 to 5.x was done in 2022, after 4.8 was released. I suggest you update since some of the scriptmodules need updating in order to properly install and configure the binaries.

Not much luck with LR-PUAE. I've tried all the settings that I can think of but Gloom Deluxe runs slower than it does on Amiberry. The later 3D games may just be beyond the capabilities of the Zero2 at the moment.

Time to make some more changes. Some of the keys are mapped to commands in Retorarch. This can interfere with games and systems that require keys to start the game (C64, Spectrum CPC) Which file stores these keymaps? I plan to make a cutdown version of that file and copy it ot the folder of the relevant core to prevent this overlap.
Can anyone help? Has anyone already done this?

This is part of retroarch.cfg.

I think it's easier to enable Game Focus mode for this cores so that the keyboard is no longer subject to RetroArch's bindings and any keypress is directly passed to the emulated core. There's even an option to enable it automatically for cores that support it (
input_auto_game_focus
) that can be set with RetroPie's configuration editor. -
@mitu Thanks that worked perfectly for both Spectrum and CPC. It does't quite work for my C64 setup as many C64 games have trainers that require the arrow keys. My keyboard is a PS4 textpad so it doesn't have arrow keys. There must be a way to remap those to the joypad/other keys on the keyboard.
Thanks again.
[edit] This applies to Run/Start on Lr-Vice as well.
[edit2] I can use the onscreen keyboard to get around the few missing keys, I'm happy with that solution. Bigger problem is that Game Mode seems to negate controller quit combos (but not opening options controller combos).
