      Dear RetroPie community,

      I was hoping someone might be able to help. I am setting up an original controller for Karate Champ (2 player). This has two joysticks for EACH player, and two buttons for player 1 and player 2. (4 joysticks and two start buttons).

      The issue I am having is I would like to use mame 2003 plus, and I cannot locate the config file to edit the game controls permanantly, to setup this specific game. No file is created it seems, and no file exists in the mame 2003 config folder or the arcade folder.

      Retroarch is not specific enough for each player to have two joysticks, so I need to save things in MAME directly.

      Thank you in advance for any possible help.

      Sincerely,

      Matt

            @mlarsen2000 use the mame menu.

            Start your game, enable the mame menu using retroarch core options.
            Retroarch->quick menu->Core options->system->display mame menu->enable

            Return to the game screen and navigate the mame menu,
            Input(this game), and map your controls.

            Use retroarch again to close the mame menu then return back to the game screen to see that the menu has closed. Exit the game back to ES to save the mame changes.

            There should be a mame2003-plus/cfg/kchamp.cfg in the location you launch your roms from, however this cfg file is not human readable.

                Thank you for this information! There is no way I would have ever figured this out in the quick menu in the game!!!!! Very Grateful!

                I went to "Options" in the quick menu, then "system", then toggled on "display mame menu"

                It works!
