How to update Retroarch from custom source?
-
Hi, I tried searching the forums and can't seem to find my answer.
In trying to compile retroarch from a custom source. Which is https://github.com/leiradel/RetroArch. So I can test the retroachevements fixes he's done.
Can anyone help me?

@grenade44
AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! :)edit the script in /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/ etc to point at your github repository rather than libretros.
ie https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/master/scriptmodules/emulators/retroarch.sh#L30
you'll need to delete any scripts you change if you ever want to update the script, otherwise it will complain.

Thank you, If it messes up I can always change it back and recompile from the official source.

@grenade44 Are you interested in the leiradel's branch because of the latest retroachievements fixes?
I'm asking it because if you would like to help us to fix the problems with the retroachivements in RetroArch, check this post here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/1799/call-for-volunteers-to-help-retroarch-full-compatibility-with-retroachievements

@grenade44 FYI: the RetroAchievements fixes are already in the libretro/RetroArch master branch. So you don't need any hack here, just use the retropie_setup and update RetroArch from source.
I'm finally going to get those hidden treasures Castlevania achievements! :-)

To late now, I updated yesterday. Might as well stay on this one if there's going to be updates to the achievements code.
