I can see clearly that the info isn't from SS... Compare your first entry for Aladdin with:
        http://screenscraper.fr/gameinfos.php?gameid=2170

but what did "scraper -use_gdb=false -use_ss=true" do then?

I don't know. I use the software from my pc, not from the rpi.

I scrape entirely from my pc, don't use a Raspberry Pi for that.

and how does it work on your rpi? do you copy the data to the retropie after scraping?

so you overwrite the "downloaded images" folder and thats it`?

It appears to me as if you wouldn't know how the gamelists work. You have your downloaded images wherever you want and your gamelist.xml. Every entry on your gamelist corresponds to one single rom. There, you have the game pointing to one specific image. Overwriting your image folder doesn't mean that your gamelist is pointing to those images nor that you have images that aren't used.
If you want to know how I scrape my roms with sselph's scraper on my pc, take a look here:

thanks for the very helpful link! so after scraping my on PC the gamelist is automatically changed? I just point the scraper to \retropie\emulationstation (or where my roms are on the pi)?
                          is that correct?

Come on, all the info is on the respective link. You scrape on your pc having your roms on your pc and then transfer your image-folders and gamelists to the respective folders. You must stop ES before copying the gamelists though. I haven't tried to scrape over the network as my interest was to scrape everything fast, and the Raspberry Pi is limited on resources.

OK, It worked on PC using the batch you linked. thanks so much.

unfortunately there are still a few roms that were found using thegamesDB, but no using the new screenscraper.fr

is it possible to combine both? Or can I scrape only the missing ones using thegameDB?

You can make the first run with the standard settings of the batch (only SS enabled) and then edit it to have use_gdb=trueAnd scrape your roms again, but appending the gamelist.

thanks for your help! so appending will only add the missing info and not overwrite existing data, right?
